This is the short read: what you can see and use. The detailed
engineering log lives with the source code, not in this download.

====================================================================
v1.0.425    26 October 2026
====================================================================

* The QRZ, Club Log and QO-100 upload indicators are back on the
  status bar; they could stay hidden after a logbook was opened.

====================================================================
v1.0.424    26 October 2026
====================================================================

* Undocked scope window: at its smallest size the VFO frame no
  longer covers the volume slider.

====================================================================
v1.0.422    26 October 2026
====================================================================

* Contest Online ScoreBoard is now set per logbook, in Station
  Setup -> Contest Score (contest logbooks only). A score is only
  ever posted under the account of the logbook it belongs to, and
  a new logbook starts with posting off. Fill it in once for a
  contest logbook that was already posting.

====================================================================
v1.0.421    25 October 2026
====================================================================

* Contest score: calls that cty.dat lists one by one (TO4A, MM9RAB
  and the like) now count for their own country and continent. A
  CQ WW SSB log now scores exactly as in N1MM.
* Contest score: of two contacts with the same station on a band,
  the LATER one is now the dupe, not the first.

====================================================================
v1.0.420    25 October 2026
====================================================================

* New contest definition: CQ WW DX Contest, SSB (CQWWSSB.ctd), on
  the CTD download page.

====================================================================
v1.0.419    25 October 2026
====================================================================

* KeyMaster: the waterfall speed (col/s) now sits under the
  waterfall, right of Vertical/Horizontal.
* KeyMaster: Hold TX now sits at the far right above the waterfall.

====================================================================
v1.0.418    25 October 2026
====================================================================

* KeyMaster, Audio tab: a "More sound settings..." button opens the
  Windows Sound dialog.
* The "Split TX/RX" switch in KeyMaster is now called "Hold TX".

====================================================================
v1.0.417    24 October 2026
====================================================================

* The volume slider, its caption, the percentage and Mute are
  centred on one line.

====================================================================
v1.0.415    24 October 2026
====================================================================

* A Mute key under the volume slider, docked and undocked; red
  while muted, the slider keeps its place.

====================================================================
v1.0.414    24 October 2026
====================================================================

* Undocked scope window: the volume slider runs from the RX/TX
  line down to the bottom of the window.

====================================================================
v1.0.413    24 October 2026
====================================================================

* A volume slider for the Icom LAN speakers: left of the scope,
  and under the mode keys in the undocked scope window. Greyed
  out while no speaker card is chosen.

====================================================================
v1.0.412    24 October 2026
====================================================================

* The docked scope header no longer shows RX, VFO, MEM and the
  memory channel keys; they are in the undocked scope window.

====================================================================
v1.0.411    23 October 2026
====================================================================

* The waterfall has no right-click menu any more: horizontal or
  vertical is chosen with the keys on the colour row.

====================================================================
v1.0.410    23 October 2026
====================================================================

* Split TX/RX: a right click now sets the TX tone (red), a left
  click the RX tone (green).
* The waterfall speed is a list on the bar above the waterfall
  (it was in the right-click menu).

====================================================================
v1.0.409    23 October 2026
====================================================================

* The CW-AFSK split key is called Split TX/RX.

====================================================================
v1.0.408    23 October 2026
====================================================================

* CW-AFSK: a Split TX/RX key above the waterfall turns the split on
  and off. On: a right click sets only the TX tone (the red line),
  a left click only the RX tone (the green line). Off: one tone
  as always.

====================================================================
v1.0.407    23 October 2026
====================================================================

* CW-AFSK: the transmit tone can be split off the receive tone.
  A left click in the waterfall sets the TX tone (and listens
  there); a right click moves only the RX tone. The TX tone shows
  as an orange line. The waterfall menu is Shift+right-click
  in CW-AFSK.
* The horizontal waterfall is CW only again: in RTTY and
  RTTY-AFSK the waterfall always stands.

====================================================================
v1.0.406    23 October 2026
====================================================================

* New macro tag {HISGREETING_SHORT}: GM, GA, GE or GN by the
  other station's clock (GN from 22:00 to 04:00).

====================================================================
v1.0.405    23 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN audio: 12 kHz is now one of the sample rates.

====================================================================
v1.0.404    23 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN audio settings like RS-BA1: receive (AF) and transmit
  (MOD) each on or off, with their own sample rate, codec and
  prebuffer, and retransmission of lost audio packets.
* Two buttons fill in the recommended settings: one for a radio
  on the local network, one for a radio over the internet.
* Saved with the rig profile; takes effect at the next connect.

====================================================================
v1.0.403    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* Memory banks: on an IC-705 a Bank key in the VFO frame chooses
  a bank (00-99), and the bank shows next to the channel name.

====================================================================
v1.0.402    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* An RX/TX indicator bottom-left under the scope: RX lights
  green while receiving, TX red while transmitting.

====================================================================
v1.0.401    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The two VFO frequencies sit together in the middle under the
  scope.

====================================================================
v1.0.400    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The frequencies are centred in their fields.

====================================================================
v1.0.399    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The Antenna frame holds the antennas side by side, the tuner
  and the power slider; SPLIT moved to the VFO frame.

====================================================================
v1.0.398    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* ANT1, ANT2 and RX-ANT have a frame of their own again,
  between Filter and Duplex / Tone.

====================================================================
v1.0.397    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* At connect an IC-7300 or IC-705 is checked for VFO A or B.
* The other VFO shows in a greyed field next to the frequency;
  in memory mode that field holds the channel name, with the
  channel number in front of it.

====================================================================
v1.0.396    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* Power out and ALC are two plain bars in the bottom-right corner
  of the waterfall; the old meter bars are gone.
* The frequency sits in the middle under the scope, with the VFO
  it belongs to and the frequency of the other VFO (B or sub).

====================================================================
v1.0.395    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The S-meter is a see-through overlay in the bottom-left corner
  of the waterfall.

====================================================================
v1.0.394    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The memory channel name shows next to the frequency in memory
  mode, and the S-meter has a modern LED-segment look with the
  reading in large digits.

====================================================================
v1.0.393    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* An analogue S-meter with a needle and peak mark next to the VFO
  frame of the undocked scope.

====================================================================
v1.0.392    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* Type a frequency in the undocked scope (14.074, 14074 or
  14.074.250) and press Enter to tune; Esc restores the radio's.

====================================================================
v1.0.391    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The undocked scope shows the frequency and mode left of the
  meters.

====================================================================
v1.0.390    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* All frames under the scope are centred on it, and the receive/
  transmit keys sit on one line.

====================================================================
v1.0.389    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The meters sit without a frame, centred under the scope.

====================================================================
v1.0.388    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* Duplex (simplex, DUP-, DUP+) and repeater tone (TONE, TSQL and
  their frequencies) in the undocked scope.
* Receive/transmit spans the full width, sliders side by side.
* Dropdowns stay inside the window and on the screen.

====================================================================
v1.0.387    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* Undocked scope: the mode keys in a column left of the scope, the
  band keys in a column right of it, and the keys of each frame
  the same width.

====================================================================
v1.0.386    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The undocked scope reads MAIN/SUB from the radio when it connects
  (IC-7610, IC-9700), and drops stale states when the radio goes.

====================================================================
v1.0.385    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The undocked scope window has a minimum size that still shows the
  whole panel and a usable scope.

====================================================================
v1.0.384    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The undocked scope panel keeps a fixed layout at any window width,
  and the receive/transmit keys sit side by side.

====================================================================
v1.0.383    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* Receive, antenna and transmit settings now share one frame in the
  undocked scope.

====================================================================
v1.0.382    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* Antenna select in the undocked scope: ANT1, ANT2 and RX-ANT, on
  radios with more than one antenna connector (IC-7610).

====================================================================
v1.0.381    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* VFO frame: VFO next to A and B on top, MEM and the channel keys
  under A=B.

====================================================================
v1.0.380    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* In the undocked scope, VFO/MEM and the memory channel moved from
  the bar above the scope into the VFO frame.

====================================================================
v1.0.379    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The scope settings (on/off, center, VBW, hold, ref) moved into the
  bar above the undocked scope, next to span, step and RX.

====================================================================
v1.0.378    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The S, power and ALC meters now sit side by side under the scope,
  left of the scope settings.

====================================================================
v1.0.377    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The undocked scope panel is tidier: MIC set and PBT open as a
  dropdown, the scope settings sit on one line right under the
  scope, and modes and bands each stay on a single line.

====================================================================
v1.0.376    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* Set the filters from the undocked scope: FIL1-3, width, sharp or
  soft, twin PBT and the notches. The Dock button now sits in the
  top-right corner of the scope, in its own colour.

====================================================================
v1.0.375    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The undocked scope panel is grouped in frames and shows only what
  your radio has: LSB and USB apart, DATA, VFO A/B, IP+, MIC set
  (mod input and levels), colour bar meters for S, power and ALC,
  and a big red PTT key that blinks TX while you transmit.

====================================================================
v1.0.374    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The undocked radio scope is now a small radio panel: mode,
  filter, bands, preamp, attenuator, AGC, NB, NR, AF/RF gain,
  squelch, split, tuner, RF power and PTT, plus the scope settings
  (on/off, center/fixed, reference level, VBW, hold).

====================================================================
v1.0.373    22 October 2026
====================================================================

* The radio scope can go into a window of its own (Undock in its
  header). There it fills the window, with RF gain, squelch and a
  PTT key always shown underneath. Dock or the X puts it back.

====================================================================
v1.0.372    21 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: when the radio stops answering, Hamlib.log
  now shows the last commands before it went quiet.

====================================================================
v1.0.371    21 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: PTT is sent straight to the radio. Key
  Master no longer freezes when the radio stops answering, and PTT
  off is always sent.

====================================================================
v1.0.370    19 October 2026
====================================================================

* Key Master: the macro set list is twice as wide, so longer set
  names can be read.

====================================================================
v1.0.369    19 October 2026
====================================================================

* Key Master: the experimental CW reading options are gone. The
  standard decoder reads better and is now the only one.

====================================================================
v1.0.368    19 October 2026
====================================================================

* Moving a macro or message key with the arrows now jumps to the
  next free key. Keys that are in use stay where they are.

====================================================================
v1.0.367    18 October 2026
====================================================================

* JTTY is known: it is in the submode list, and it is exported as
  MODE=MFSK, SUBMODE=JTTY (ADIF 3.1.8).

====================================================================
v1.0.366    18 October 2026
====================================================================

* Key Master macros: the "Show a button for it" option is gone. A
  key works as soon as its macro has text, and is grey when empty.

====================================================================
v1.0.365    18 October 2026
====================================================================

* Status messages are short now: TX, RX and a few words, no
  explanations.

====================================================================
v1.0.364    18 October 2026
====================================================================

* Long status messages no longer run into the QRZ, Club Log and
  QO-100 indicators. The line ends in "..." and its tooltip shows
  the whole text.
* All status messages are kept, with their time. Click the status
  line, or use Help > Status messages, to read them.

====================================================================
v1.0.363    18 October 2026
====================================================================

* The PTT macro keys the radio again on every rig connection. It no
  longer refuses when no Icom LAN microphone is chosen.
* A sound card that is unplugged when Settings opens stays chosen
  instead of being cleared.
* Changing the rig in Settings reconnects the radio if it was
  connected, so CAT PTT keeps working.

====================================================================
v1.0.362    18 October 2026
====================================================================

* Saving a rig profile in Settings now takes effect at once. Before,
  closing the window without Apply kept the old settings in use.

====================================================================
v1.0.361    18 October 2026
====================================================================

* Switching logbooks no longer makes the lower half of the main
  window flicker: it is redrawn once, at its final size.

====================================================================
v1.0.360    18 October 2026
====================================================================

* A QSO logged by another program over UDP keeps its satellite,
  propagation and receive frequency, and only gets the QO-100 fields
  from your rig profile when it really was on QO-100.

====================================================================
v1.0.359    17 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: the Hamlib log says how loud the transmit
  audio was and whether the radio really switched to transmit.

====================================================================
v1.0.358    16 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: the Hamlib log says when transmit audio
  goes to the radio, in which format, and whether it keeps up.

====================================================================
v1.0.357    16 October 2026
====================================================================

* No change in use: a correction in the documentation of 1.0.356.

====================================================================
v1.0.356    16 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: transmit audio works with the low-data
  u-law settings - it is now always sent as 16-bit audio.

====================================================================
v1.0.355    16 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: choose the audio quality per rig profile,
  from 48 kHz 16-bit down to 8 kHz u-law - less data for a radio on
  WiFi such as the IC-705.
* A checkbox per rig profile switches the radio's scope off over the
  network, which saves data. VFO, MEM and RX stay in the header.

====================================================================
v1.0.354    16 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: the IC-7300MK2 and IC-7760 are known by
  name, with their own scope scale and receive settings; the IC-9700
  offers all four preamp settings; memory names show on an IC-705.

====================================================================
v1.0.353    16 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: on connecting, ShackAssistant reads whether
  the radio is in VFO or memory mode and shows it in the scope header.

====================================================================
v1.0.352    16 October 2026
====================================================================

* The scope header fits again: the scope's own buttons on the left,
  VFO, MEM and the memory channel on the right. The frequencies are
  shown in the scope itself.
* The main window no longer comes back from the taskbar very narrow.

====================================================================
v1.0.351    16 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: an RX button in the scope header sets the
  radio's RF gain, squelch, attenuator and preamp. It offers only the
  steps your radio has, and shows what the radio is set to.

====================================================================
v1.0.350    16 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: Disconnect is immediate when the radio has
  gone away, so you can connect again straight after.

====================================================================
v1.0.349    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* A duplicate QSO (same call, band, mode and minute) is no longer
  logged first: it is refused with a message, and the entry is kept
  so you can correct it.

====================================================================
v1.0.348    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* No window opens (partly) off the screen any more - Settings and
  every other window are moved inside the screen when they appear.

====================================================================
v1.0.347    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: in memory mode the frequency no longer
  jumps, and the errors after VFO/MEM in the log are gone.

====================================================================
v1.0.346    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: after switching to a memory channel from the
  scope, the frequency no longer stops updating (IC-9700).

====================================================================
v1.0.345    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* Radio scope: in memory mode the header shows the name of the
  chosen memory channel where the frequency range was.

====================================================================
v1.0.344    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* Help -> Radio scope demo (no radio): shows the radio scope with a
  made-up radio, to see how it looks without an Icom on the network.
  Span, VFO/MEM and the channel arrows answer, and the wheel tunes.
* Radio scope: the MEM button showed as "ME" - fixed.

====================================================================
v1.0.343    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* Radio scope: the wheel steps are now 10 Hz, 0.1, 1, 2.5, 5, 6.25,
  10, 12.5 and 25 kHz (0.25 and 0.5 kHz are gone).

====================================================================
v1.0.342    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* Radio scope: the mouse wheel over the spectrum tunes the radio. The
  step is chosen with the new Step button, from 0.1 to 10 kHz.

====================================================================
v1.0.341    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* Radio scope (Icom over the network): next to Span there are now
  VFO and MEM buttons, and arrows to step through the memory
  channels - empty channels are skipped. The mouse wheel on the
  channel number steps too.

====================================================================
v1.0.340    15 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom radios over the network (especially on WiFi) stay connected:
  a short dropout no longer makes ShackAssistant give up and log in
  again. Lost packets are asked for again more persistently, and a
  CI-V stream that goes quiet is restarted without ending the session.

====================================================================
v1.0.339    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* QO-100: clicking a spot on the downlink (10489 MHz) tunes the radio to
  the matching uplink frequency - only in QO-100 mode.

====================================================================
v1.0.338    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* DX Cluster: the 6 cm and 3 cm bands, with their band buttons and the
  QO-100 narrowband plan in the mode filter. A QO-100 spot (heard on
  the 3 cm downlink) counts a QSO logged on 13 cm as worked.

====================================================================
v1.0.337    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* ADIF export follows the ADIF modes: a QSO logged as USB or LSB goes
  out as SSB with that submode (the QO-100 Dx Club refused USB).

====================================================================
v1.0.336    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* QO-100 Dx Club upload: every QSO was refused with "406 Not
  Acceptable". Fixed.

====================================================================
v1.0.335    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* Upload to the QO-100 Dx Club (qo100dx.club), like QRZ and Club Log:
  the API key in Station Setup, Upload; automatically after each
  QO-100 QSO (also from WSJT-X), and from the logbook's right-click
  menu. Only QSOs via QO-100 are sent.

====================================================================
v1.0.334    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN: a computer on WiFi loses the radio much less often - a
  late network packet is waited for longer, and the session only ends
  after 10 seconds without anything from the radio.

====================================================================
v1.0.333    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN: the CI-V and audio ports can be set next to the control
  port, per rig profile - for several radios behind one router.
  Left empty they are the control port + 1 and + 2.

====================================================================
v1.0.332    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN scope: a Span button with the radio's spans, 2.5 to
  500 kHz either side. Picking one puts the scope in center mode.

====================================================================
v1.0.331    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* Rig control rides out a single missed answer from the radio instead
  of dropping the connection for a few seconds.
* Icom LAN: folding the scope no longer upsets rig control.

====================================================================
v1.0.330    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN: the radio scope now comes in (it stayed on "waiting" on an
  IC-9700, because large CI-V frames were dropped).

====================================================================
v1.0.329    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN: the radio's spectrum scope at the bottom of the main
  window, folding open and shut. Spectrum and waterfall over the range
  the radio shows; a click tunes there. The radio only sends its scope
  while the block is open.

====================================================================
v1.0.328    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* Settings, General: the UTC Time Offset setting is gone. It had no
  effect - times always come from the Windows UTC clock.

====================================================================
v1.0.327    14 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN remote audio: keying no longer sends a short burst of the
  radio's own audio back out when one virtual cable carries both ways.

====================================================================
v1.0.326    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Settings uses two columns again on a high-DPI screen (200%), where
  it used to fall back to one long column.

====================================================================
v1.0.325    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN: Speakers and Microphone are now in the Rig Connection frame,
  shown with Network (Icom LAN).

====================================================================
v1.0.324    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom LAN remote audio: while the microphone is on the air the outputs
  are silent, so one virtual cable for both directions no longer feeds
  the radio its own audio and howls.

====================================================================
v1.0.323    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* WSJT-X with an Icom over the network: when WSJT-X keys through the
  rigctld server, the microphone input (a virtual cable from WSJT-X)
  goes to the transmitter as well.

====================================================================
v1.0.322    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: the radio's audio can play on this computer's
  speakers and this computer's microphone can go to the transmitter.
  Choose the two under Settings, Rig Control, Rig Connection.
* New message key tags <PTT>, <PTT ON> and <PTT OFF> put the microphone
  on the air and key the radio; Esc goes back to receive.

====================================================================
v1.0.320    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* An Icom radio on the network is signed off properly when the program
  closes, so the next start connects to it again automatically.

====================================================================
v1.0.319    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* The message set you chose last on the main window is loaded again
  when the program starts, instead of Default.

====================================================================
v1.0.318    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Settings, Rig Control: the Icom LAN password has a Show/Hide
  button, like the other password fields.

====================================================================
v1.0.317    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: the Hamlib log now records lost and
  repeated packets, and why rig control was reopened - to track
  down problems on radios connected over WiFi.

====================================================================
v1.0.316    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom over the network: rig control could stop answering on a
  radio on WiFi (IC-705), and pressing PTT then froze Key Master.
  Fixed: the connection now recovers from lost and stray packets.

====================================================================
v1.0.315    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Audio over the network for Icom radios. Every sound card list now
  also offers "Icom LAN (radio)": pick it for Key Master's receive
  and transmit audio, the voice keyer or the voice recorder, and the
  audio goes over the same network connection as the rig control.
  On the radio, set the modulation input to LAN.
* PTT on CAT works over the network as well; the help text says so.

====================================================================
v1.0.314    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Icom radios with a network port (IC-7610, IC-9700, IC-705, IC-905,
  IC-7760, IC-7300MK2) can now be controlled over the network, no
  USB cable needed. Settings, Rig Control: pick the Icom model and
  tick Network (Icom LAN), then fill in the radio's address and the
  network user set in the radio's menu. WSJT-X keeps working
  through ShackAssistant's rigctld server. Close RS-BA1 or wfview:
  the radio lets one program in. CAT only for now - no audio yet.

====================================================================
v1.0.313    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Settings: frames fill the first column before the second one is
  used. Tabs with only a few frames now show them in one column.

====================================================================
v1.0.312    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* Help, About now also links to the ShackAssistant website,
  www.shackassistant.com.

====================================================================
v1.0.311    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* The CW decoder no longer loses its speed on a long run of dashes,
  such as the two zeros in QO100. Those used to come out as
  unreadable symbols.

====================================================================
v1.0.310    13 October 2026
====================================================================

* The CW decoder in Key Master now ignores strong signals just
  outside its filter much better. A steady carrier next to the
  station you are copying no longer drowns it. The same squelch
  setting is a little less strict than before; raise it a few dB
  if you see more noise characters.

====================================================================
v1.0.309    12 October 2026
====================================================================

* Pressing Apply in Settings no longer switches to another logbook
  server on its own and closes the network logbook. That happened
  when the Network tab had not been looked at.

====================================================================
v1.0.308    12 October 2026
====================================================================

* Logging is refused when no logbook is open. Before, the QSO looked
  logged but was only kept in memory and was gone after a restart.
  The main window and Key Master now say so in a window.

====================================================================
v1.0.307    11 October 2026
====================================================================

* All three QSL print windows have a "Save template" button next to
  Print. It turns gold with a * as soon as something is changed and
  not yet saved, on whichever tab. Print QSL Labels now also saves
  the template when you print, like the card and sheet windows.

====================================================================
v1.0.306    11 October 2026
====================================================================

* Mask & Mark: "Size pt" on a Text item now really changes the size
  of the printed text. It did nothing before. A Text item you made
  earlier shows 0 (the template's own size) - type the size again.

====================================================================
v1.0.305    11 October 2026
====================================================================

* Print QSL Labels: the Add, Remove, Up and Down buttons on the Mask
  & Mark tab (and the right edge of Header, QSO Table and Footer)
  were cut off by a scroll bar. The notebook now fills the column
  and nothing is hidden any more.

====================================================================
v1.0.304    11 October 2026
====================================================================

* In all three QSL print windows, Template, Printer and Layout (or
  Calibration and Card, or Sheet layout and Content) are now tabs of
  the notebook, next to Header, Fields and Mask & Mark. The editors
  get the full height of the window.

====================================================================
v1.0.303    11 October 2026
====================================================================

* Mask & Mark can print on a field: "When a field is filled in" or
  "When a field is empty", with the field to choose (Satellite,
  Comment, QSL via and the rest). A Text item on Satellite prints
  the satellite's name, e.g. QO-100, and only on satellite QSOs.
  In all three print windows: labels, cards and label sheets.
* The Mask & Mark tab no longer has empty gaps: rows that the chosen
  type does not use are left out.

====================================================================
v1.0.302    11 October 2026
====================================================================

* "Port in use by another program": when the radio's port is already
  open elsewhere - the Web Logbook in your browser, WSJT-X - the
  message now says so. Disconnect it there, then press Connect.

====================================================================
v1.0.301    11 October 2026
====================================================================

* A radio over Bluetooth (such as the IC-705) connects again. The
  Bluetooth link is only set up when the port is opened, which can
  take a few seconds; ShackAssistant now waits for it instead of
  giving up after the first unanswered question.
* When a radio cannot be reached, the message says why - no answer
  in time, or a port that is busy or gone.

====================================================================
v1.0.300    10 October 2026
====================================================================

* Your settings can no longer be wiped. Sometimes ShackAssistant
  started with every setting back at its default: when the computer
  went to sleep or the program was stopped at the moment it saved,
  the settings file was left empty. The file is now written to a
  temporary copy first and only then put in place, so a save that is
  cut off leaves the old file whole.
* A spare copy of the previous settings is kept next to the file
  (ShackAssistant.ini.previous). Should the file ever be empty or
  damaged, ShackAssistant starts from that copy and notes it in its
  log.
* Saving also works when another program (a backup tool, a virus
  scanner, an editor) has the settings file open.

====================================================================
v1.0.299    10 October 2026
====================================================================

* First step of the settings fix described under v1.0.300: the
  settings file is written safely, with the previous version kept
  as a spare.

====================================================================
v1.0.298    10 October 2026
====================================================================

* Locator and Location in the My Station frame are now buttons, like
  Operator: click one to change it. The change goes into the logbook,
  just as in Station Setup. The callsign stays as it is - change that
  in Station Setup.

====================================================================
v1.0.297    10 October 2026
====================================================================

* The rigctld server is plain TCP again, for WSJT-X and other Hamlib
  programs. The Web Logbook link to it from v1.0.295 has been taken
  out; the Web Logbook talks to the radio directly (USB or
  Bluetooth).

====================================================================
v1.0.296    10 October 2026
====================================================================

* Clicking a CW or RTTY spot while Key Master is in AFSK now puts the
  signal right under the Key Master cursor, so you hear it and it
  decodes at once. Before, the radio was tuned so the signal landed
  at 0 Hz audio. In real CW and FSK nothing changes.

====================================================================
v1.0.295    9 October 2026
====================================================================

* The Web Logbook can read your radio through ShackAssistant: switch
  on the rigctld server (Settings -> Rig Control), connect the radio,
  and on the Radio tab of the Web Logbook choose "Hamlib rigctld".
  No extra program is needed. The browser only gets to READ the
  frequency and mode - it can never tune the radio or key it.

====================================================================
v1.0.294    9 October 2026
====================================================================

* A logbook on the server can be renamed: File -> Network Logbook ->
  Rename. The new name holds for every machine that uses it; nothing
  is copied. It is refused while another machine has the logbook
  open. The one you have open yourself is closed, renamed and opened
  again under its new name.

====================================================================
v1.0.293    7 October 2026
====================================================================

* RTTY-AFSK: choose the data mode the radio goes to - PKTLSB or
  PKTUSB (Key Master Settings -> RTTY -> Radio). A clicked RTTY spot
  uses the same choice when you send AFSK. On PKTUSB Key Master
  swaps its tones itself, so the signal on the air stays the same.

====================================================================
v1.0.292    5 October 2026
====================================================================

* The DARC RTTY-Kurzcontest definition now also comes in a version
  for stations in Germany: you send RST and your DOK.

====================================================================
v1.0.291    5 October 2026
====================================================================

* A contest definition for the DARC RTTY-Kurzcontest (outside
  Germany) is available in the CTD collection.

====================================================================
v1.0.288    4 October 2026
====================================================================

* RTTY-AFSK on a radio without a data mode (Rig Control set to USB
  for data) now puts the radio in LSB instead of PKTLSB.

====================================================================
v1.0.287    4 October 2026
====================================================================

* RTTY over a serial port (FSK) no longer stops with "Collection was
  modified" while sending. The same timing fault could also hit
  AFSK; both are fixed.

====================================================================
v1.0.286    4 October 2026
====================================================================

* Choosing RTTY-AFSK in Key Master now puts the radio in PKTLSB
  instead of PKTUSB - the lower sideband, where the mark tone sits
  above the space tone, as AFSK RTTY expects. CW-AFSK still goes to
  PKTUSB.

====================================================================
v1.0.285    4 October 2026
====================================================================

* Key Master on a screen scaled to 200%: the Add Log fields no
  longer lie on top of each other, the macro list in the macro
  editor no longer squashes its rows together, and the waterfall
  gets its full height back.

* The waterfall height can now be dragged: grab the line just above
  the squelch bar. The height you choose is remembered; double-click
  the line for the starting height.

====================================================================
v1.0.284    4 October 2026
====================================================================

* Clicking a column header in Statistics to sort no longer shows
  "Object must be of type Int32". Every column sorts both ways; the
  flag column simply does not sort, and the alternating row colours
  stay alternating after a sort.

====================================================================
v1.0.283    4 October 2026
====================================================================

* Key Master Settings now has Apply and Close instead of Save and
  Cancel, the same as the main Settings window. Apply keeps the
  window open, so you can try a setting and adjust it again without
  reopening - which is what that window is for: baud, shift and the
  colours are found by trying them.

* A line beside the button says Applied., so you can see it did
  something.

* Enter still does NOT apply. Baud and shift are typed in and
  confirmed with Enter, and that key belongs to them. Esc closes.

====================================================================
v1.0.282    4 October 2026
====================================================================

* PTT is now set PER TRANSMITTER instead of once for the whole
  station. The voice keyer, CW and RTTY each have their own method,
  their own port and their own Test button - because they are not
  always the same wire: a voice keyer can sit on CAT while an FSK key
  pulls a serial line.

* Where to find them:
      Settings -> DVK the voice keyer
      Key Master Settings -> CW CW, with its delay and tail
      Key Master Settings -> RTTY RTTY, with its own values

* RTTY now has its own PTT delay and tail. Until now it used the ones
  set for CW.

* Your current PTT setting is copied into the two new ones the first
  time you start this version, so nothing changes until you change it.

* The Audio tab in Settings is now called DVK - it holds the voice
  keyer, and nothing else. Key Master has carried its own sound cards
  since v1.0.168.

* Rig Control now sits right next to General in Settings.

* The Test button keys the rig for a moment over the line of THAT
  transmitter. Nothing is sent - no tone, no characters - so it only
  proves the wiring.

====================================================================
v1.0.281    3 October 2026
====================================================================

* When somebody spots YOU, that spot now stands out in purple - in the DX
  Cluster list and on the band map. It beats every other colour, because
  being heard is the one thing in that list you did not go looking for.

* Your station callsign and your operator callsign both count, so it also
  works when you are operating a club station. A suffix is fine too: a
  spot of your call with /P or with a country prefix is still you.

* The legend under the spots has a sixth swatch for it, and its labels are
  shorter so the row still fits.

====================================================================
v1.0.280    3 October 2026
====================================================================

* The author's name is spelled Björn. The About box and the copyright
  line in the program said it without the umlaut.

====================================================================
v1.0.279    3 October 2026
====================================================================

* The download carries these release notes. They sit in the ZIP next to
  the setup, so you can read what changed before you install anything.

====================================================================
v1.0.278    3 October 2026
====================================================================

* ShackAssistant looks for a newer version at EVERY start. Until now it
  did that at most once a day, and that got in the way of the one thing
  you want to be able to do: install a new setup, restart, and see that
  it arrived. No internet still means it says nothing at all.

* Help > Check for Updates... asks at any moment and always answers,
  also when you are already running the newest version.

* The checkbox for it is on Settings > General, under Updates. A check
  no longer writes anything to your settings file.

* The download page reads the version from the name of the file, so a
  release shows up as the version its file name says it is.

====================================================================
v1.0.237 - v1.0.278    29 September to 3 October 2026
====================================================================

Everything below arrived after v1.0.236, the setup that was on the site
before this one. Grouped by subject instead of by version number.

NEW - Transverter and QO-100

* A transverter offset works as a translation layer. Above the layer you
  see, type and log the real frequency - entry window, logbook, a clicked
  DX spot, the UDP broadcast and WSJT-X all agree. Below it the radio gets
  the IF. One offset, set with the rig profile in Settings > Rig Control.

* With an IF band chosen the band is locked and nothing is ever sent that
  would put the radio outside a band. A refused command says which of the
  two reasons it was, and where to switch the layer off.

* A marker next to the frequency - TRV +2156.000 - says a layer is in
  between, and the title bar repeats it. It follows the checkbox, never a
  left-over number.

* QO-100 mode next to it: you choose the IF start frequency and the offset
  follows by itself, up to 2400.500. The downlink is shown on its own row
  under the frequency and is stored with every QSO inside the transponder,
  together with Satellite and Propagation. Connecting parks the radio
  inside the IF window; in this mode the frequency field reads TX (MHz).

* The received frequency and band can be corrected in Edit QSO and in
  Bulk edit, and an imported ADIF brings them in.

NEW - Contest exchanges in their own fields

* The state or province of the other station has a field of its own, and
  so does the ARRL section. They export and import as the ordinary ADIF
  fields, so other programs and LoTW can read them.

* A box that a contest definition asks for now fills the logbook field it
  belongs to, instead of being pasted into one exchange string. The CQ
  zone is what the other station sent you, not what a prefix table makes
  of his call.

* The previous QSO with the same station prefills the exchange boxes, and
  it wins over the call history file - what you worked this weekend beats
  a list from last year. A received serial number is never prefilled.

* Your own ARRL section is stored with each QSO as you log it, so a log
  from last year keeps saying what you really sent.

* Importing an ADIF no longer asks which tag holds the exchange and no
  longer moves values between fields: a tag lands in the field that
  belongs to it, or it does not come in. Please note the other half of
  that: where a foreign file keeps its exchange somewhere unexpected, you
  now get an empty field instead of a value quietly taken from elsewhere.

* Scoring was checked against N1MM on a real 2300-QSO contest log, QSO by
  QSO and not just on the total: same points, same multipliers, same
  score.

NEW - Cabrillo export

* Your own section goes into the header and into every QSO line.

* The sent exchange comes from the contest itself when that contest does
  not send serial numbers.

* A received CQ zone keeps its leading zero, the way the organiser prints
  it.

* MULTI-ONE and MULTI-TWO get their transmitter column. Which transmitter
  this machine is, is asked once and then stored per machine and stamped
  on every QSO you log; a log that already exists can be filled in
  afterwards.

* A contest that wants two received columns gets them, each from its own
  field.

IMPROVED

* The Settings window is wider and puts its frames in two columns, so no
  single tab decides the height any more.

* Every QSO in a contest log records which machine logged it and on which
  radio - useful afterwards in a multi-operator log. They are two columns
  in the logbook, switched OFF by default: turn them on with Customize
  Layout. Searchable, and correctable in Bulk edit.

* The logbook display filter can show or hide contest QSOs.

* Contest definitions are called CTD now: the files end in .ctd and they
  live in Documents\ShackAssistant\CTD. What you already have is moved
  and renamed for you the first time you start, and a contest log keeps
  finding the definition it was made with. You lose nothing.

* The author's callsign is PA5DJ.

FIXED

* A restart could hang on the splash screen. A question about the
  transmitter was asked before the main window was on screen, so it came
  up behind the splash with nothing to click.

* A contest log imported from N1MM scored too low - one multiplier was
  never counted, because the imported exchange ended up in no field at
  all.

* The web dashboard kept showing a contest after you had opened an
  ordinary logbook. Needs Web Dashboard Feeder v1.6.4 or newer.

* The transverter frame in Settings > Rig Control is there again whatever
  kind of rig is selected.

* A tooltip in the entry window still gave the author's old callsign as
  an example.
